Tom Igoe and I have been making lamps out of a wide range of materials: parts of old tee-shirts, paper, fabric, tin foil and more. It has been a lot of fun. Here’s a few experiments.
Here are a few lamps I have been working on that use some imagery based on illuminated manuscripts from the Book of Revelation. They are made of fabric, wax paper, and wire.
This summer at ITP camp I made a few more lamps with laser cut parts, finishing up most of the ones that use fabric in the last few weeks. Here are a few pictures. One of the cut-up tee shirt lamps has buttons attached so you can “button up” the lamp various ways.
This year at ITP Camp I made laser cut lamps, some cut from old tee-shirts and other fabrics, some from acrylic cut and formed into chains or chain mail.
